HU grantee Verité, Manpower Group launch new tool to improve labor recruitment, reduce forced labor

by LORI BISHOP

Humanity United congratulates Verité and Manpower Group on the launch of "An Ethical Framework for international Labor Recruitment". This partnership, and the principles themselves, represent an important innovation in industry's ability to proactively respond to forced labor and human trafficking. At the same time, the main principle is simple: Workers should never have to pay for their jobs.

Verité is a Humanity United grantee. This report marks the culmination of the Help Wanted project, a multi-year and global effort supported by Humanity United to investigate the role of labor brokers in facilitating exploitation of workers. The project was recently profiled in our 2011 Performance Report.
